Question 1

How do I join a party?

Accepted Answer

Scan the QR code at the venue with your phone camera. No QR code nearby? Go to spinitdj.io/join-party and enter the event code (EVT-…) or the DJ code (DJ-…) shown on the poster.

Question 2

Is there a fee to join as a guest?

Accepted Answer

No. Scanning the code and joining a party is completely free. You only pay when you choose to boost a track or tip the DJ.

Question 3

How does bidding work?

Accepted Answer

Every request enters the live queue. Adding a bid moves your track higher up that queue — the bigger the boost, the sooner it plays. You pay when you send the request, and if the DJ declines it you're refunded automatically.

Question 4

How do I know the DJ will play my song?

Accepted Answer

When the DJ accepts your request you get a notification, and the song shows an "Accepted" badge in the live queue. Accepting doesn't change its place in the queue — boosting still moves it up.

Question 5

What happens if the DJ declines my request?

Accepted Answer

The DJ always has final say on the vibe. If a request is declined, any boost you placed is refunded automatically and you keep the points you earned.

Question 6

What devices and browsers are supported?

Accepted Answer

Anything with a modern browser — iOS Safari, Android Chrome, plus desktop Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. There's no app to install.

Question 7

How do rewards points work?

Accepted Answer

Reactions, comments, follows and requests all earn points during an event. Points unlock perks like a free drink, event discounts, skip-the-line and VIP tables at participating venues.

Question 8

How do I sign up as a DJ?

Accepted Answer

Open the "Become a Spinit DJ or Venue Partner" form on the home page, choose "I'm a DJ", and fill in your details and a password. We email you a 4-digit code — enter it and you're signed straight in to your DJ console. Then finish your profile (bio, genres, welcome message, socials) so guests know who's on the decks.

Question 9

How do I create an event?

Accepted Answer

In the DJ console go to Events and click Add Event (or use Add Event on your Profile). Give it a name, date & time, capacity and venue address, then save. The event shows up as Upcoming until you take it live.

Question 10

How do I go live?

Accepted Answer

On the Events page, open the menu next to your event and choose Go Live. Only one event can be live at a time. Your Live Session screen then shows the request queue, now playing, reactions and comments in real time.

Question 11

How do QR codes work?

Accepted Answer

Every DJ gets one fixed QR code that never changes. It always sends guests to whichever event you're live at, so you can print it once and reuse it every night. If you'd rather have a separate code for each event, switch to "QR per event" under Settings → Join QR. You can print the QR poster, or download it as a JPG or PDF, from Settings or from any event's page.

Question 12

Guests can't scan the QR — what can they do?

Accepted Answer

Below the QR, the poster also prints a short link (spinitdj.io/join-party) and your code. Guests can type either one to join. QR codes scan best when the poster is lit, flat, and not behind glossy plastic.

Question 13

How do I end an event?

Accepted Answer

Click End Session on your Live Session screen. This clears the request queue, marks the event Completed, and sends every guest to a thank-you page where they can rate your set. If you log out while an event is live, Spinit will ask whether to end the session first.

Question 14

How do I accept a song request?

Accepted Answer

Tap the ✓ next to the song in your queue, on the Live Session screen or in the Mini Panel. The song gets an "Accepted" badge for you and the crowd, and everyone who requested it is notified. Accepting doesn't move it in the queue, guests can still boost it, and you can still reject it later (which refunds as usual).

Question 15

Can I reject a song request?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Tap the X next to the song in your queue, on the Live Session screen or in the Mini Panel. Any paid boosts on that song are refunded to the guests automatically, and they get a notice that it was declined.

Question 16

Can I turn off paid requests?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Go to Settings → Payments (Stripe) and switch it off. Tips and boosts are then hidden, and your followers can request songs for free.

Question 17

How do I get paid as a DJ?

Accepted Answer

Boosts and tips are tracked live in your dashboard per event and paid out to your connected account on a regular payout schedule, with a full breakdown per night.

Question 18

I still need help — how do I contact support?

Accepted Answer
